Newcastle United Women secured a comprehensive 3–0 victory over Durham WFC in the Women's Super League 2 North East derby on Sunday. The win marked Newcastle's first-ever competitive victory over the Wildcats since joining the league and kept their 100% record intact.

Newcastle broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute when Hildur Antonsdóttir reacted quickest from a corner kick to fire home from close range, giving the visitors a narrow lead at the break.
Durham attempted to push forward after the interval, but Newcastle's quality in the final third shone through. Jordan Nobbs doubled the advantage in the 65th minute, curling a smart effort past goalkeeper Catriona Sheppard after a sustained spell of pressure
With just three minutes left of regular time, Martha Thomas put the game to bed, converting a low cross from Beth Lumsden to seal the 3–0 scoreline and net her fifth goal of the campaign.
Despite a late free-kick from Durham's Beth Hepple being comfortably dealt with by Anna Tamminen, Newcastle comfortably saw out the remainder of the match to claim the regional bragging rights.
